National Seminar on “IPR, Biosafety & Bioethics”
Dept. of Biosciences, Acropolis Institute of Management Studies & Research, under the banner of “Solaris- the Science Club” in association with Vijnana Bharti organized one day national seminar on IPR, Biosafety and Bioethics. Chief guest of the seminar was Dr. Anand Kar (Prof. & Head, School of Life Sciences, DAVV) who elaborated the concept of the seminar. Dr. Anjana Jajoo (Prof. & Head, School of Biotechnology, DAVV) was inaugural speaker who focused on need of skill development in the field of Biosciences. Dr. J. L. Bhandari took this opportunity to guide the delegates regarding various career opportunities in Biosciences and relevance of research in career. The whole seminar was organized in two sessions. Eminent speakers from JNU New Delhi, MPCST Bhopal, DAVV Indore, ICAR-DSR Indore and CVSAH Mhow, marked their presence and enlightened the delegates on the topics related to seminar.
Dr. Ravi Tandon, Asst. Prof., Jawahar Lal University, New Delhi emphasized to follow standard practices while working in Bio-Safety Level (BSL) laboratories. Dr. Milind Ratnaparkhe, Sr. Scientist, ICAR-Directorate of Soyabean Research, discussed various biosafety concerns in genetically modified crops to achieve desired traits. Dr. Anita Tilwari, Senior scientist, MPCST discussed different ethical concerns in plant biotechnology.
In the post lunch session, Dr. Supriya Ratanparkhe, Head R & D, Indore Biotech Inputs Pvt. Ltd. described different parts of intellectual property rights and gave an overview patent system in India. Dr. B. S. Karada, Veterinary surgeon, CVSAH discussed about biosafety and biosecurity issues in vaccine production.
Valedictory session guest Dr. Tushar Baneerjee, Lecturer, School of Life Science, DAVV, Indore wonderfully explained the topic of the seminar in simple yet enriching way. He congratulated organizing committee for successful conduction of the seminar.
Educational Visit to Tethy’s Food & Breverages
Biosciences Department of AIMSR organized a visit to prestigious organization “Tethy’s Food & Beverages Pvt. Ltd Indore” on 4th Oct. 2019. Total 40 students of B.Sc. III year and B.Sc. II year with MB/PC/CS streams were accompanied by Prof. Rati Trivedi Nair and Prof. Pushpanjali Sharma.
As soon we reached the industry we were welcomed by Plant Manager Mr. Sukhvinder Singh Pal. The students were divided in to two groups and visited different departments like manufacturing, packaging, quality testing, warehouse, supply and administration where they learned the whole process of beverage manufacturing and packaging.
Visit to Parle- G Factory Indore
Biosciences Department of AIMSR organized a visit to prestigious organization “Parle-G Indore” on 4th Oct. 2019. Total 40 students of B.Sc. I year Biotechnology with MB/PC/CS streams were accompanied by Dr. Niharika Shivhare and Dr Parik Kakani. As soon we reached the industry we were welcomed by Plant Manager Mr.Ashish Tiwari The students visited different departments like manufacturing, packaging, quality testing, research, warehouse, supply and administration, where they learned the whole process of food manufacturing. The total production of a day is around 250 tons in three units. During the visit production of 20-20 biscuits were in process.
Industry Academia Interface
Department of Biosciences, Acropolis Institute of Management Studies & Research, Indore organized one day seminar on industry academia interface on 3rd Dec 2019 to give professional exposure to students. Ms. Shweta Laad, faculty & technical support at PG Tech Research Institute and Mr. Jitendra Dariyani, Lab incharge, Quality Control Dept., Sun Pharma shared their knowledge and expertise in their respective fields. Ms. Shweta Laad detailed about various basic and advanced instruments used in industries. She emphasized on learning and understanding the basics of instrument handeling. Mr. Jitendra Dariyani gave an interactive session focusing on learning the basics of chemistry and working and career opportunities of different departments of pharmaceutical industry. The event aimed at promoting industry relevant guidance to bridge the industry–academia gap and make students industry ready.
Two Days Entrepreneurial Workshop on Mushroom Cultivation
Department of Biosciences under “Solaris- The Science Club” of Acropolis Institute of Management Studies & Research organized two days entrepreneurship workshop on Mushroom Cultivation on 27th -28th September 2019. In this workshop, 150 students and faculties of varied streams from colleges of Indore, Ujjain and Dewas participated. On the first day, Dr. Pranoti Belapurkar, Head, Dept. of Biosciences welcomed all dignitaries and motivated participants to nurture their entrepreneurial skills. Group director Dr. J. L. Bhandari motivated the students to excel to improve their scientific skills and excel in their careers with dedication and hard work. Dr. H. S. Goswami Director, Omcar India detailed students about various species of mushrooms with high nutritional value. He emphasized on findings of recent research on Cordiceps mushrooms being rich in Vitamin B17 to have the capacity to fight cancer. The session followed by practicals which included preparation and sterilization of materials used for Mushroom Cultivation. On the second day, session started with discussion on marketing of various Mushroom varieties and start up ideas related not only to Mushroom cultivation but also plant tissue culture, hydroponics etc. Dr. Goswami discussed about spawn preparation and preservation. He demonstrated layer method of seeding for cultivation and explained about incubation conditions. In the valedictory session, interactive session was conducted and feedback was given by the participants followed by certificate distribution. Dr. Anant Gwal, Dean Skill Development, Acropolis Institute felicitated the guest and enlightened participants about importance of skill development along with academics. Dr. Shivani Dubey and Mrs. Pushpanjali Sharma hosted the event. Dr. Niharika Shivhare and Dr. Parik Kakani proposed vote of thanks.
Two Days Workshop on Smart Girl
The main topics dealt with in the workshop were;
- Communication in relationship
- Menstruation and hygiene
- Self-esteem and self defense
- Choices and decisions
- Friendship and temptation
It was an interactive workshop in which students were encouraged to voice out their opinion. In order to have good participation of students several interesting games were also played. Real life situations were given to students and students analyzed the situations in the light of their experiences and gave their interpretations. Students were asked to improve their communication with parents. Regular communication helps in maintaining good relationship in the family. Since the main objective of the workshop was to bridge the gap between the girls and their parents, a session was organized on the second day in which all the parents were invited. Parents were acquainted how to deal with the problem concerning girls. This initiation was appreciated by all parents too. At the end, she was felicitated by memento by the Principal AIMSR Dr. Ashok Jhawar. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Neha Sharma. The workshop was conceived and conducted by Dr. Poonam Singh.
Research Methodology Workshop “Hands on SPSS”
Research is important in both scientific and non-scientific fields. While taking decisions, managers are required to generate implementable solutions. These solutions are generated by management scientists who use different tools and techniques for arriving at those implementable solutions. These tools and techniques collectively called ‘Research Methodology’. With an objective to make the researchers aware about research methodology, AIMSR has organized a two day’s workshop on Research Methodology, “Hands on SPSS”. Thirty faculty members from different renowned educational institutions and faculty members from AIMSR have participated in this workshop to learn and revive research methodology skills with the subject expert Dr. Vishal Vyas. Dr. Vyas is a subject expert of research methodology at Atal Bihari Vajpayi Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior.
Participants enjoyed the rigorous sessions on the subject and worked on the software, SPSS, for conducting research tools. Two days sessions made them understand about different tools of management research.
Vijay Diwas Celebration
On the proud occasion of Vijay Diwas- 16th December 2019,AIMSR has organised various patriotic events,which includes, Nukkad Natak , Poster Making Competition, Movie Review(Uri- The Surgical Strike) and Partiotic Singing. All the students were on HIGH JOSH and pride for the nation after these events.They not only enjoyed the programe but recalled the struggle and sacrifices made by our brave Jawans on LOC.
संविधान दिवस समारोह
भारतीय संविधान का गठन 26 नवम्बर 1949 मे किया गया और इसे 26 जनवरी 1950 मे लागू किया किया। एक्रोपोलिस इंस्टिट्यूट ऑफ़ मैनेजमेंट स्टडीज एंड रिसर्च में दिनाँक 26 नवम्बर 2019 को 70वाँ संविधान दिवस मनाया गया। कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत राष्ट्रगान से की गई। आयोजन को विशेष बनाने के लिये भारतीय संविधान की किन्हीं भी 5 धाराओं की विवेचना के लिये भाषण, काव्य पाठ और नाटिका प्रतियोगिता आयोजित की गई, जिसमें विद्यार्थियों ने बढ़ चढ़ कर हिस्सा लिया। संचित ठाकर ने प्रथम, रूपाली चौधरी ने द्वितीय और सुमुख खंडेलवाल ने तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त किया। ग्रुप डायरेक्टर डॉ जयंतीलाल भंडारी ने संविधान का महत्व बताते हुए सभी को संबोधित किया। स्पोर्ट्स डायरेक्टर श्री मीर रजंन नेगी ने सभी को संविधांन दिवस की बधाईयाँ दी। उप प्राचार्य डॉ मनीष जैन ने सभी को संविधान में निहित नागरिकों के मूल कर्तव्यों की शपथ दिलायी। डॉ शिवानी दुबे ने सभी का आभार माना। कार्यक्रम की अन्त राष्ट्रगान से किया गया।
Entrepreneurial Talk by Dr. Rahul Bhosle on “Management between Passion and Profession”
Acropolis Institute of Management & Research organised an Entrepreneurial talk on “Management between Passion and Profession” by Dr. Rahul Bhosle, Founder of Youtube Channel RaBho. The event was conducted by AIMSR E-Cell in association with Institution’s innovation Council, an initiative by Ministry of HRD Government of India. विवरण : 14 सितंबर 1949 को स्वतंत्र भारत के संविधान के अनुच्छेद 343 में यह स्वीकार किया गया कि राजभाषा हिन्दी और लिपि देवनागरी में होगी | तब से हर वर्ष 14 सितंबर को हम राजभाषा का सम्मान करने के लिए हिन्दी दिवस मनाते है| इसी अवसर पर आज 12 सितंबर 2019 को एक्रोपोलिस इंस्टिट्यूट ऑफ़ मैनेजमेंट स्टडीज एंड रिसर्च में हिंदी दिवस का आयोजन किया गया। कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत माँ शारदा को नमन करते हुए एवं “जन –जन की भाषा है हिंदी , भारत की आशा है हिंदी” की सुंदर पंक्तियों से की गयी।
कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता करते हुए संस्थान के खेल और सांस्कृतिक निदेशक श्री मीर रंजन नेगी ने सभी को हिंदी दिवस की बधाई दी और हिंदी भाषा के ऐतिहासिक पहलुओं पर प्रकाश डाला । कार्यक्रम में उपस्थित महाविद्यालय के प्राचार्य डॉ. अशोक झंवर , उप प्राचार्य डॉ. मनीष जैन, विभाग अध्यक्ष डॉ प्रनोती बेलपुरकर और डॉ मनीष व्यास ने विद्यार्थियों की शानदार प्रस्तुति की प्रशंसा की| निर्णायकगण के रूप में डॉ. सुमित्रा जोशी डॉ. प्रनोती बेलपुरकर ने विजयी प्रतियोगियों को पुरस्कार स्वरूप हिंदी के प्रसिद्ध रचनाकरों की पुस्तकें प्रदान की। डॉ. सुमित्रा जोशी ने अपने भाषण में हिंदी भाषा की आवश्यकता दैनिक व्यवहार में शुद्ध वर्तनी के महत्त्व पर एक प्रसंग सुनाकर विद्यार्थियों को मातृभाषा सीखने के लिए प्रेरित किया। मुहावरों की मूक पहेली अभिनय जैसे रोचक खेल की प्रतियोगिता के माध्यम प्रतिभागियों ने मुहावरे व उनके अर्थ का अभ्यास किया | दर्शक विद्यार्थियों ने भी कार्यक्रम का आनंद लिया | अंत में डॉ. शिवानी दुबे ने उपस्थित अतिथियों के प्रति आभार व्यक्त किया।
AARAMBH – Induction Program of AIMSR (academic session 2019 – 20)
Aarambh the induction program of AIMSR for the academic session 2019 – 20, concluded with much excitement and spirited energy. The four day extravaganza, which was cerebral yet entertaining, academic yet motivational, set the tone of the session to come.
Keynote speaker for the first day was Mr Amber Arondekar, whose impeccable storytelling enthused the young students to shed their comfort zone. Recalling the turning point in his life, where a failed 11th standard student goes on to be the merit holder and gold medalist in future academic endeavors, touched a chord with the audience. Ably complimenting Mr Arondekar, the second speaker for the day – Mr Akhilesh Sengar, borrowing from his extensive experience of capacity building and talent management in the Telecom sector, delved on psychological traits of successful professionals. He also stressed on the pitfalls of modern communication technology which has become an addiction. The second day began with the inspiring of story of Mr Tarun agrawal, a career banker and a life long learner who currently works for rural financial inclusion and financial literacy. Building on his humble beginnings, he urged the students to realise the ‘value of money.’ Accordingly, he advised a good education is the best investment for an individual which would generate life long returns. Mr Tony Shukla, a real estate developer, tennis and music enthusiast, enthralled the students with his wit, humor and inspiring talk. Weaving life tales and seeking impromptu motivation from seemingly insignificant objects or situations, made a lasting impression on the young audience. The third day, Mr Mir Ranjan Negi, the inspiration behind the blockbuster movie Chak De India, conducted a session sharing his personal life which was no less than a Asian games hockey final between India and Pakistan! Surely he changed the life course of numerous students with his words.
Students witnessed the indomitable yet kindred spirit of PadmaShree Janak Palta McGillian on the fourth day. Deriving sustainable from the spiritual and sharing her life journey devoted to the cause of social service, Janak Didi’s simple yet profound, alternative methods, implanted the seed of sustainability in the young minds.
