Job Title: Accounts Payable Staff Accountant
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Staff Accountant to support our client’s finance operations. This onsite, temporary position based near Trenton, NJ, will focus on full-cycle accounts payable processing, vendor payment coordination, and financial system support using industry-standard tools.
Compensation:
• $23 – $30/hour, depending on experience and education
Work Schedule:
• Monday to Friday, normal business hours
Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Staff Accountant:
• Perform daily accounts payable functions to ensure timely payment processing
• Train team members and community users on expense management tools and procedures
• Support and enhance purchasing practices to ensure cost-effective procurement
• Assist in the preparation and issuance of annual 1099 forms
• Collaborate with the finance team and other departments to maintain accurate financial records
• Complete additional duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills for the Accounts Payable Staff Accountant:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
• 2–5 years of accounting experience; nonprofit sector experience is a plus
• Proficiency with accounts payable and billing processes, along with spreadsheet tools
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new accounting systems and software
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
