Job Description

We take a long-term view of each of our client relationships and treat the dogs as our own and the moms and dads as friends. All of Sniff's dog walkers arrive at the park at about the same time so you're never alone. We

  • promote and supervise dogs in play, whether it is playful bouts of romping, chases, games of keep-away, or tug;
  • use scientifically proven, reward-based methods to promote positive behavior and incorporate command work into your dog's day;
  • work with dogs to modify behavior in an effective, constructive manner, using R+ methods.

San Francisco, California - Full-time, salaried employee $55-$60K + benefits

Sniff San Francisco is a locally owned, full-service dog care company that offers walking, training, and boarding. Our approach is refreshingly different and predicated on a simple precept of active engagement. We achieve this by right-sizing the dog-to-human ratio of 4-5 dogs per person and collaborating as a team. At the park, we have the human bandwidth and expertise to reinforce commands and promote play and socialization. This entry-level position offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, training to become a permitted dog walker, ongoing training, and opportunities for career growth within the organization into supervisory roles. This is a full-time employee position. Each day starts at roughly 8:00 am and ends at about 4 pm (M-F).

The ideal candidate is someone who loves dogs but who is also a people person (meaning they work well on teams), doesn't mind   clocking in the mileage walking uphill   and down (We operate on foot!) , is articulate, and is a team player.

  • Thrives in the care and development of dogs;
  • Capable of collaborating as a part of a team which includes incorporating feedback into their work or sharing feedback to help up-skill their teammates and actively contributing to a team;
  • Strong communication (written & verbal) and customer service orientation;
  • Comfortable being outdoors and walking in the city.

All of our people are full-time, salaried employees who receive a range of employee benefits.
