Hardware Validation Engineer – Level 2

Contract-to-Hire | $41–$53/hr | On-site

An established partner in the manufacturing sector is seeking a Hardware Validation Engineer (Level 2) to join their engineering team on a contract-to-hire basis. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with a strong foundation in hardware systems and electronics, who excel in validation, troubleshooting, and collaborative problem-solving.

Position Overview:

The Hardware Validation Engineer will support the design verification and functional testing of hardware systems, including servers, networking devices, and computing platforms. This role will own the test setup process, execute and refine test plans, and perform issue triage across hardware, firmware, and software layers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure and maintain test environments for validation and scale testing
  • Execute test plans to evaluate system functionality, performance, and scalability
  • Conduct failure triage and determine root cause across hardware/software/firmware
  • Support technical documentation of test results, procedures, and failure reports
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project and product milestones
  • Provide engineering support for issue resolution, rework, and validation tasks
  • Assist with the integration and testing of hardware platforms and systems
  • Perform other technical duties as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware validation, development, or manufacturing support
  • Proficiency in system-level testing and hardware debugging
  • Familiarity with server systems and computing architectures (e.g., PCIe, USB, Ethernet)
  • Experience with measurement and diagnostic tools (oscilloscopes, DMMs, etc.)
  • Understanding of protocols such as Redfish, IPMI, and basic scripting (Python preferred)
  • Ability to interpret schematics and technical documentation
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives

Preferred Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with test automation and scripting (Python, Bash, etc.)
  • Prior work involving network hardware or power distribution integration
  • Familiarity with embedded system debugging tools and techniques
  • Experience supporting scale test environments in lab or production settings
