Location: Jeffcom 911 – 440 Indiana St, Golden, CO
Pay Range: $28.68 – $35.00/hour

This is an entry-level opportunity ideal for someone looking to grow in the field of Human Resources while supporting the life-saving mission of emergency services.

About the Role:

As the Human Resources Technician , you'll provide essential support across a variety of HR functions. From managing employee records to assisting with payroll, onboarding, and recruiting, your work will help keep our internal operations running smoothly — so our 911 professionals can focus on keeping the community safe.

You'll work closely with the HR Director and interact with employees across the organization. This is a great opportunity to learn, grow, and gain hands-on experience in an HR setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Keep employee records up to date and organized
  • Assist with job postings, interview coordination, and recruiting events
  • Support the onboarding and offboarding process
  • Help review timecards and support payroll audits
  • Run reports and assist with data entry and compliance tracking
  • Respond to employee questions and provide helpful, professional support
  • Maintain confidentiality with sensitive information (including medical and personnel files)
  • Participate in trainings to expand your HR knowledge
  • Be ready to jump in and support a variety of projects as needed

What We're Looking For:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • 2+ years of experience in HR, admin support, or a business-related role (preferred)
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus, but not required
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Google Docs, and standard office tech
  • A great communicator who is approachable, professional, and respectful
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use sound judgment
  • Must be at least 18 and able to pass a background check
  • Willingness to obtain CCIC/NCIC certification within 6 months of hire
  • Ability to remain drug- and alcohol-free (including marijuana)

Selection Process:

Candidates who meet minimum qualifications will move through the following steps:

1. Pre-Recorded Video Interview

2. In-Person Interview

Selected candidates will be invited to participate in a traditional in-person interview with members of our team.

3. Psychological & Suitability Assessment

Finalists will undergo a psychological and job suitability evaluation to ensure success in a sensitive and high-trust work environment.

4. Background Check

Includes criminal history, employment verification, and reference checks.

5. Pre-Employment Screening

Candidates must successfully complete a drug screening (including marijuana), vision and hearing screening.
