Job Description

Live-In Nanny/Family Assistant 

Location: Watchung, New Jersey 
Start Date: Mid-July or sooner (flexible)
Schedule: Approx. 40 hours/week to start, 5–6 days/week (split shift days) during peak season (July–mid-January) April 2026, the role will shift to approx. 50 hours/week with caring for both children. Flexibility needed for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional overnights, and travel 1-2 weeks/year.

About the Family:
This loving and laid-back Christian family includes a 20-month-old son and a newborn due in November. They are planning to grow their family over the coming years and are looking for a long-term nanny/family assistant to become an integral part of their household as both parents have demanding schedules. They have additional support staff including a household manager and housekeeper, and plan on hiring a chef. They also have a sweet Rottweiler!

Responsibilities:

  • Morning routine and daycare drop-offs/pickups
  • Family laundry
  • Scheduling pick up/drop off of dry cleaning service
  • Ordering groceries (instacart) &light meal prep for children (a chef will eventually be hired)
  • Light tidying up around the home (they have a weekly housekeeper,) packing bags
  • Coordinating vendor visits and being available for arrivals.
  • Pet care: feeding and letting out the dog
  • Age-appropriate, milestone-focused engagement with the children
  • Occasional errands

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experienced with both infants and toddlers; confident managing multiples
  • Seeking a long-term role (5+ years) with a growing family
  • Organized, proactive, and a strong team player
  • Comfortable in a collaborative household with staff
  • Confident driver – family car provided
  • Fun, warm, and able to keep up with an active family; enjoys humor and sarcasm
  • CPR/First Aid/Infant certified
  • Fully vaccinated 
  • Valid Passport Required

Compensation Package:

  • $1,400–$1,650/week (W-2)
  • Health stipend: $200–$300/month
  • 14 days paid time off
  • Holidays off: Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Year’s Day, Fourth of July, others TBD
  • Family vehicle provided for job-related use
  • Live-In Accommodations: A private guest house under construction specifically for the nanny.
