Job Title: Medical Receptionist

Location: Cincinnati, OH 45227

Duration: 10 Weeks (Extendable)

Shift: 5 shifts/week, 8-hour days, 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM

Hourly Rate: $18/hr – $22/hr

Position Summary:  We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Medical Receptionist to manage patient scheduling, physician calendars, and front desk operations in a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle confidential information with discretion, and ensure efficient coordination between patients, providers, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Answer and direct incoming calls, route messages, and manage correspondence.

• Perform phone system/answering service functions.

• Manage physician calendar and coordinate appointments.

• Greet and check in patients and visitors; perform registration as needed.

• Determine insurance coverage levels and complete required paperwork.

• Collect co-pays and outstanding balances; maintain and reconcile cash drawer.

• Update patient personal and financial information in compliance with Medicare, state, and federal guidelines.

• Verify referrals and complete pre-certifications when necessary.

• Scan orders and documents into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

• Order office supplies and maintain reception area cleanliness.

• Support lab orders, diagnostic test scheduling, follow-up visits, and hospital procedures.

• Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare environment preferred.

• Knowledge of insurance verification and billing processes.

• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.

• Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Outlook.
