Newspaper ad designer Location Remote :

Seeking a contract newspaper ad designer. Turnaround is short, usually less than 24 hours. Delivering on deadline is crucial. One of the key aspects of your role is creating print display advertising for a wide range of publications, following the direction of the sales team and advertisers. Sometimes we need prototyping and you come up with your own look and feel by choosing fonts, colors, etc., sometimes projects are set and templates/libraries are already created.

Some specific duties include:

  • Designing print display ads, testing them, and correcting them based on the customer requests.
  • Planning and coordinating ads with various clients and editorial staff.
  • Participate in design discussions and give feedback during planning and strategy meetings.
  • Quickly translate ad copy into advertising proofs and then press-ready PDFs.
  • Paginate various publications as needed and deliver files to printer on tight deadlines.
  • Communicate directly with print vendors.
  • Create digital advertisements for a range of websites (mobile and desktop).
  • Staying up to date on industry trends and the latest digital design software.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be a self-starter to work from your home office and have excellent time-management, communication and organizational skills. You need to have the ability to work well under pressure and you must have experience in journalism.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or equivalent experience.
  • *** Must have newspaper ad design experience**** NO other graphic design or web design candidates will be considered for this job.

This is a part-time remote position working in tandem with employees and contractors based in the U.S. and internationally.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 25 per week
