Description We are looking for an experienced Technical Accounting Manager to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role involves providing critical support for technical accounting projects, internal control documentation, audit processes, and year-end financial reporting in the banking industry. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in accounting practices and auditing standards, bringing a proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration. Responsibilities: - Conduct in-depth technical accounting analyses and prepare detailed memos, summaries, and reports to ensure compliance with US accounting policies. - Assist in documenting and enhancing internal controls, including remediation efforts and procedural updates. - Provide comprehensive support for both internal and external audit processes, collaborating closely with the Controller. - Lead the preparation of year-end financial statements, including drafting footnotes and ensuring accuracy. - Utilize advanced accounting software systems to streamline processes and maintain accurate records. - Analyze and resolve audit findings, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and regulatory requirements. - Contribute to the development of audit programs and plans, ensuring thoroughness and compliance. - Implement business process design improvements to optimize accounting functions and controls. - Ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, providing expert guidance on compliance. - Collaborate with stakeholders to address audit engagements effectively and drive successful outcomes. Requirements - A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, technical accounting, or auditing roles. - Proficiency in accounting software systems such as CaseWare and CCH ProSystem Fx. - Strong knowledge of audit programs, plans, and findings analysis. - Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations and internal control documentation. - Expertise in business process design and accounting functions in a banking environment - Demonstrated ability to prepare financial statements and footnotes with precision. - Experience supporting internal and external audits, including remediation efforts. - Effective communication and collaboration skills to work across multiple teams and stakeholders.
