Job Title: Medical Record Specialist

Location : Remote

Schedule : 8a-4:30P EST Mon-Fri

Job Summary :

Prime Physicians is seeking an experienced Medical Record Specialist. The ideal candidate plays a critical role in supporting medical case reviews by gathering and organizing required patient documentation. This position ensures that healthcare providers have timely and complete information to make informed decisions regarding patient case closures.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Collect and review required medical documentation from Guard Medical Units.
  • Ensure all patient records are complete, accurate, and submitted promptly to support case evaluations.
  • Collaborate with medical providers to facilitate timely case review and closure decisions.
  • Maintain and manage patient health information in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Use electronic medical record (EMR) systems for data entry, updates, and secure documentation management.
  • Act as a liaison between administrative teams and medical professionals to ensure continuity of care documentation.
  • Monitor the status of patient cases and follow up as needed to ensure timely resolution.
  • Participate in audits and contribute to quality assurance initiatives.

Qualifications :

  • Prior experience in occupational health and/or adult primary care (e.g., family medicine, flight medicine, internal medicine, emergency medicine).
  • Background in military flight medicine or military medical case management is highly desirable.Prior Military experience preferable as an Air Force 4A0, 4N0, Navy Corpsman HM 8406, HM 8409 or Army Medic 68W. Experience with AHLTA, HAIMS, Genesis, ASIMS, CHCS and/or PEBLO experience highly desired.
  • Proficient in handling medical terminology and healthcare documentation.
  • Familiarity with military or Department of Defense healthcare systems is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
  • Strong decision-making, clinical documentation, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in English (verbal and written)
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Familiarity with medical review standards and documentation protocols
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
