**Job Title: Sewing Operator** **Job Description** + We are seeking a skilled Sewing Operator to join our team on the 1st shift, from 6am to 2:30pm, with potential overtime up to 4:30pm and frequent Saturday shifts (6-8 hours). + As a level 2 or above sewer, you will be integral in assembling raw materials for the manufacture of parachutes and related parts, ensuring adherence to company quality standards. + This role requires an experienced operator comfortable working with challenging materials and proficient in using standard measuring tools. + You will operate various sewing machines, both manual and computer-driven automatic, including all gauge double needle, single needle, bartackers, zigzag, and merrow/overlock machines. **Responsibilities** + Pin, mark, trim, and prepare raw material assemblies for sewing. + Sew all raw materials, including support tapes and webbing. + Perform daily routine maintenance and adjustments on sewing machines. + Complete all required paperwork and recordkeeping. + Assist in training new operators as needed. + Read and interpret work specification sheets and drawings. + Perform other related duties as required or assigned. + Follow company rules and procedures. **Essential Skills** + Experience with single needle, double needle, zigzag, merrow, and overlock sewing machine operations. + Proficiency in using standard measuring tools. + Ability to cut, sew, and inspect materials. + Capability in upholstery and industrial sewing. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Pass a sewing test. + No high school diploma required. **Why Work Here?** Join a company with a low turnover rate, where employees are valued and encouraged to grow within the organization. Noise levels are moderate due to sewing machines and traffic. + The position involves frequent walking and sitting at a sewing machine, with occasional lifting and pulling of moderate to heavy items. + English fluency is not required, but understanding basic written instructions is necessary. + Bilingual employees are available to assist as needed. **Job Type & Location** + This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SANTA ANA, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.41/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
