About Us-

Department of Computer Science, Acropolis Institute of Management Studies and Research was established in 2015 and is affiliated to Devi Ahilya Vishwavidhyalaya, Indore. Since then the department has seen phenomenal growth and today the department offers courses both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The department offers B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Computer Science. Both programmes strive to build seamless connectivity and synergy between industry and academics. The department conducts placement related training for students of all years in association with the Career Development Cell so that students obtain skills like  resume preparation, group discussion, self-introduction, personal interview and other prerequisites before attending campus interviews. The Department also conducts various science mentoring sessions by acclaimed and successful resource persons from various fields who can motivate and inform the students on avenues in Computer sciences.

The diverse qualifications of the faculty members ensure expertise in all aspects of Computer sciences as well as in various interdisciplinary areas. Project work, seminar, presentation, internships, and certifications are introduced in all courses to get an overview of the ongoing research development in the subject.

Under the directives of MP Higher Education, the department has implemented National Education Policy (NEP) since 2021. As per the NEP, the structure and duration of degree programs have been modified. The undergraduate degree is structured for either three or four years. There are multiple entry and exit options along with internships, vocational subjects, community service, field projects etc. Students are eligible for a certificate after completion of one year of study; a diploma will be awarded after two years of study, and a Bachelor’s degree will be awarded after a three-year program. Students also have an option to pursue a four-year B.Sc. degree to focus on their chosen major and minor areas. Here, they will get a graduation degree with research and Honors. NEP is based on a Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). 

The department offers B.Sc.(Computer Science and Statistics ) These subjects can be opted as major, minor or elective. 

B.Sc. (Computer science)

B.Sc. Computer Science aimed at students having a background of science stream and interest in pursuing study and career in the field of Computer Science. This course is designed to give a strong foundation in Computer Science and specialized knowledge of topics as well as trains our students in the various programming languages, databases, web development and more.  Along with theoretical knowledge, our students develop their critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills through hands-on training through various modules embedded in the programme.  Students learn various industry-oriented courses like Web Technologies, AI&ML, IoT, Network Security, Advanced Java Programming, Applied Statistics and more through academic experts and guest lectures. With a B.Sc. With A Computer Science degree, the student will be qualified to build and maintain reliable software to address the sophisticated demands of today's market with innovative and creative approaches to problem solving.

B.Sc. Statistics 

OVERVIEW

B.Sc. Statistics is an undergraduate bachelors' course that deals with the detailed study of Mathematics, Statistics, Probability and Computer Science. It is a 3-4-year program under NEP and introduces highly advanced concepts and theories, mathematical proofs, data analysis and modeling etc. Web designing, statistical software, programming languages, and research projects are also an essential part of the course structure of many universities worldwide.

M.Sc. (Computer science)

M.Sc. Computer Science is a Master Degree programme designed to provide students with a thorough grounding in the theoretical and practical aspects of the computer science discipline.
